My bloody valentine is your average horror slasher film with lot of gore and a lot of things coming at you (considering the movie is in 3D). The movie could have been far better - if not for it's predictable story line and fair share of bad acting. You get to see a lot of naked women in this film and quite expectantly no male skin (you do get to see a trucker's butt if that kinda thing gets you off) But what really drew me into the movie is it's two main male leads - Jensen Ackles and Kerr Smith. Jensen Ackles is your typical chocolate boy - but the other lead really caught my eye. And that is Kerr Smith who plays the bearded police officer in the movie. He looked simply scrumptious in the movie and you should rent this one out juz for him. Here are some pics of the hottie. Kerr Smith also played a gay teenager in Dawson's Creek.
I recently saw The Curiosity of Chance. A little cute film set in the 80s. Its interesting to follow how Chance Marquis (played by Tad Hilgenbrink) faces the bullies on a day to day basis..just for being gay (and pretty a flamboyant one ;) ). The movie though sometimes becomes very much in your face in terms of asking you "Stand up" for yourself. I think they even have an end song on that theme - like the movie wasn't enough? Hot video after the jump :) But all said and done - you should watch it for the cute Tad Hilgenbrink and the uber hot Brett Chuckerman. You might have missed him in Eating Out 2 because of the buffed hottie Jim Verraros. But I bet you won't miss him here. Here is something that should get you started on this film!
Finally I got to see the movie, Milk. This is only my 2nd Gus Van Sant film after Paranoid Park - which is btw a slow and haunting movie. Milk truly is a remarkable representation of the life of Harvey Milk. Many parts in the movie sent a chill down my spine thinking of the struggle & pain the LGBT community has been through.
I left the movie with a heavy heart and knowing that there has to be a bigger plan for each one of us. The movie gave me hope. Unfortunately it also helped me realize the rut our society has settled into. My well closeted gay friend who accompanied me - felt absolutely nothing - and only went on to talk about how sexy James Franco was (not that he wasn't!). Do we really think beyond ourselves and our sexual needs!? And what's wrong with GAY people not wanting to see this film because it might be "boring" or like a "documentary"?!
Harvey Milk: Forty years old and I haven't done a thing that I'm proud of. Scott Smith: You keep eating this cake, you're not going to make it to fifty.
Hmmm...and for those of you who can't get over yourself...do listen to what Harvey tells Celeve Jones when he first meets him! Sean Penn totally deserved the Oscar for this film for his very real and grounded portrayal of Harvey MIlk
Don't miss screenwriter Dustin Lance's thank you speech after winning the Oscar.
Freshman Orientation is not as bad as it's IMDB rating makes it out to be. This film is not like the million college themed movies that are out there. (even the 'gay' ones) Of course it has its set of cliches, but then again you get to watch a lot of random acts of funniness, some fat chick's boobs, a very funny drunk Rachel Dratch & a cute geeky Mike Irwin. The plot is simple - a straight guy acts gay to get a girl. Sigh! But see the movie and you might not be that disappointed.
I personally like Mike Irwin more than Huntington...but for those of you who dig him, here's a video of him. Also, a short video of Mike Irwin. Don't watch these videos if you don't like spoilers (like that's going to stop you).
Over Her Dead Body stars Eva Longoria, Lake Bell, Paul Rudd and Jason Biggs. The film is a comedy of sorts about a ghost not wanting to let go... Well lets see Paul Rudd reminds me of only of the film The Object Of My Affection& his sexy role in Wet Hot American Summer. Eva Longoria comfortably suits the role of a bitchy ghost. And Lake Bell is a pretty face that doesn't irritate. Over Her Dead Body is quite a funny movie for a lazy afternoon. It doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should you take the movie seriously. It has its moments and that makes its a worthwhile watch! This is no Gay movie. But it seems to be certainly made for them. It has Eva Longoria. It has Jason Biggs playing gay. What more could I ask for? Jason Biggs looks less brat-like and certainly attractive in this scene. Rating : 3 / 5 LGBT Interest: 2 / 5 Skin Value: 1 / 5
